Socoder -> Off Topic -> Out inhouse dev team

Our internal development team are useless, known for hacks and strange methods to accomplish simple tasks.

One of our systems for provisioning automatically emails the other one but it seems to include the marketing rubbish at the end of email, the useful content is 4 lines, the rest of it is trying to sell me a phone line!.

the email is 1.5k of which 1.4k is useless.

SO I raised a ticket for them to add them to the suppliers list, a list of email domains that dont get the marketing.

Only this is the response I get

at least they admit they are shite!

What I dont get is what they f*cking hard coded the email in the first place, the astound me sometimes.

We have a flowchart system for provision, you would think common things like email someone or updating the notes would be a simple thing to create new ones for. A sort of block system I would imagine it to be. But no, each bleedin' step a custom build and needs dev time and a roll out plan just to change the fact they buggered up the fields in the first place!

Really gets on my goat, I'm no superstar coder but some of the things they come up with are terrible
