Afr0's Holiday Journal Tuesday After spending most of the week seeing the various museums and other boring things, (there's not a lot to do, here, to be honest!) we finally decided to take a trip to the local Vortex. We spent about an hour in a parallel dimension, where the Nazi's actually won the war! It wasn't too nasty, and King Hitler II wasn't as bad as you'd expect, but nobody had invented MMORPGs yet, so I didn't want to spend too long there. On the way back, we got ice cream, but I dropped mine halfway through the Vortex return trip sadface -=-=- ''Load, Next List!''

steve_ancell	Kemp Town, which is sort of near the area of that so-called vortex; may be a goo place to visit for night life. Kemp Town is a bit multi-cultural (Bohemian), it's OK if you don't mind gay people and trans-genders etc, they are quite harmless and a lot more well behaved than most of the straight people down here. There's a lot of crusties and skateboarders down here, and quite a few nightclubs. You might actually like Brighton Pier (formally known as Palace Pier). You may even want to venture-out to some of the neighbouring towns like Worthing, Eastbourne, Lewes etc. Worthing is about 15 miles west of Brighton, Eastbourne about 20 miles east and Lewes is about 8 miles north. Lewes is one of those areas that is still historically timelocked, it hasn't changed much in the last few hundred years apart from being modified to allow for motorised traffic. As for Brighton, Worthing and EastBourne, most of the action happens on and near the seafront coast.

steve_ancell	There is a lot more to East and West Sussex than I mention above, but too much for me to delve into, a lot more happens down here than some people actually believe, but most of it is to do with the drinking culture etc. Not a lot seems to happen for computer programmie type people which is why I'm going to have words with the work & learning coordinator about starting a group myself, all the computer groups that I have read about so far seem to only centre around using off the shelf creaton suites, no one seems to actually know the roots of programming. There were a lot of proper computer geeks in Brighton during the 1980s and first half of the 1990s, but they have all seemed to disappear after all the original computer shops shut-down, we no longer have our haunts to hang-out in.
