Socoder -> Wednesday Worklogs -> What Have You Done? - 2013

Ups

What did you get done this year?
  • Lots!

Did everything turn out as planned?
Most things did, but a few things like the Image Data Loader failed spectacularly, due to the sheer stupidity of Android Fragmentation.
But other than that I managed at least 30 games this year, got iOS, Android, Windows and even OUYA working nicely together, and generally had a lot of fun with Monkey.

    Downs

    What didn't you get done?
  • Walking

    Why not?
My health's still in flux, since last year, but is starting to get a little better.
Hopefully by this time next year, I'll be back on my feet. .. Or at least, I bloody well hope so, anyway!!

    Now

What are you working on right now?
    Saying goodbye to a cat.

    How's that going?
Molly and Tayto are failing to get along well, and Tayto seems to be taking over. Molly is losing control, and getting fed up. She's miserable, and spending more time outside than in. All the time she spends inside, is spent growling, or getting chased around. She's had enough, and we've all decided it's best to send Tayto back to her old home.

    Aw well..

    Next

What's the plan for the year ahead?
  • AGameAWeek!

It's time to jump back into the coding saddle, and work on some games, again.
    Coding time aplenty!
I'm also going to spend some time with the Physio team, and hopefully get back to some sort of normality.
    A busy year ahead!

What did you get done this year?
Graduated, moved out of my parents' house, and got a job! I teach little kiddies about music!

Did everything turn out as planned?
I wasn't planning on getting a job this year, so no, thankfully!

    What didn't you get done?
My piano playing has suffered greatly. There's just no time for good practice anymore. I finally got a keyboard in my
apartment so hopefully I can sneak an hour in here or there.

What are you working on right now?
Relaxation before the 2nd half of the school year begins.

    How's that going?
This break has whizzed by. I go back to school on Thursday. I've barely had a day to myself, but the strange thing is, I can't wait to go back and see all my kids again.

What's the plan for the year ahead?
Survive - keep making enough money to stay at my apartment.

    Ups

Not much apart getting Amos Xmas Demo out of the way.
In fact, I should done more coding of this year.

Good News is I am getting Amiga ACA 500 from Amigakit meaning I will be able do files transfer from pc to Amiga so easily as I have been waiting for this for years man!

Did everything turn out as planned?

Planning things? I could have plan more better if I was doing Coding Monkey X on Ouya console but I havnt got round that as there are so many Framework out there suit my need!

Maybe I should do More Amos on Real Amiga 500 with ACA 500

    Downs

Not getting my Goals in Fitness which is very Hard!
For Next year, I would do more coding hopefully!

    Now

What are you working on right now?

Nothing much apart from prepare for New year eve of Newcastle as it is my Second Fav City !

    Next

What's the plan for the year ahead?

Hopefully plan to do more coding(it depend on what programming language i used) and take it from there!

Hopefully to get my Fitness Goal !

Oooh, that ACA looks nifty, especially being able to boot from a flashcard. Mmmmm...
Not sure I like the idea of accelerating the Amiga, though. I mean, it kinda defeats the point of targeting the actual system, if you're using a higher-spec'd system to begin with..
    Feels like cheating!!

But it does look handy. Good luck getting it all up and running, and keep us informed.

What did you get done this year?
I made more graphics for the news page that I am asked to submit images for publication.
I also was forced to go back to school

Did everything turn out as planned?
The graphics always turn out great but there were issues at school with some of the students. I did finish the semester with a B average, maybe higher. Still awaiting the final grade posts. I did manage to use the equipment at the college for creating some music which I can possibly release the end of this year. Just maybe.

    Downs
    What didn't you get done?
Due to the circumstances that forced me back to school, I may not be able to finish the program. I also did not get to remix the music that I created for class using the schools Pro Tools system which means that I will have to use some freeware like zynewaves podium free. That will take time.

What are you working on right now?
Graphics for the next issue and I'm transforming the Protools midi files into usable files within zynewave.

    How's that going?
the graphics are going Great as usual. My use of color is great, my use of humor is great when it's needed. I cannot go wrong with that. In Zynewave the software looks and operates like Protools but the plugins sound different. I will have to change something.

What's the plan for the year ahead?
Working in film through Central Casting while continuing to make graphics for the news and while rearranging the music I made at school for use in another software.

    Really!!

I started the commercial music program. I got half way through it before the end of this last Semester.

I'll post some of my music after it gets converted since I never bounced all the Audio out of Pro Tools.

That Zynwave Podium free is good.
