I tried watching the first episode, but .. MAN, was it slow! Is the rest of the series that slow? Was OLD XFiles that slow?! Am I just getting too old and grumpy to enjoy an old favourite, anymore?

No the first episode dragged a bit as it was kind of a "this is where we've been for the last 14 years" sort of thing. Tonight's one was pretty good. If you don't like the sight of blood in close-up detail, it's probably not for you. I'm not *that* squeamish but I was crawling up the back of the sofa on a couple of occasions. |

I've been enjoying the new series, great to see it back... of course I loved the original series even the later seasons. (Haven't watched the latest episode as we watched new The Walking Dead episode instead last night...)

Watched the first one the other day, I quite enjoyed the filling in the blanks/back story thingy me bob going off! Not watched X-Files for years (loved it in the beginning - it turned stupid later on) and I thought both films were crap. Not bothered by the new series at all. Now, Walking Dead - that's a different matter entirely! The first episode after the break was a doozy. An overall excellent start (with just a couple of quibbles)
