Socoder -> Film + TV -> Top Gear Troubles

Top Gear already apologising and it hasn't even started yet Linkage

Seems like they're trying to "one-up" the original TG Team!!
But at least Chris has pre-apologised. You wouldn't get Clarkson doing that!

No, Clarkson would have purposely got a car with the reg number N421 JEW.

Well this is going to be a great top gear...

Matt le blanc farts on camera... Chris Evans "I apologise unreservedly"

Eddie Jordan sneezes... Chris Evans "I apologise unreservedly"

Sabine Schmitz says "Verdammt"... Chris Evans "I apologise unreservedly"

Chris Harris's face appears on the show... Chris Evans "I apologise unreservedly"

At the end of the day, they got permission from the council, the media has souped it right up [again]... If it were me, and I was Chris Evans, I would say "Listen, if you want a mountain out of a mole hill, look somewhere else, dont come here asking me about something which you've obviously manifested into high drama, whats the point in asking me anything when you've already fudged the story up to suit your reporting needs... What do you want me to say on the subject, media wins, we look like idiots, well done"

He should've nipped that on the head straight away IMO, because, the media is indeed just looking to cause pointless bother... As they do!

Chris has had more than his share of media outrage over the years. I'm sure he knows exactly when to apologise, and more importantly, when it doesn't matter!
Right now the whole team are trying not to kick up a storm, but the media are being their usual bitchy whiny self, desperate to "BAN THIS SICK FILTH" before it even gets near our screens.

With Chris as the spokesman, you'll get just the right amount of apology.
.. Until it all gets too much for him and he quits the show in a huff, like he has a tendency to do.

Just started watching it on BBC iPlayer, after my shitty Sky+ box forgot to record it last night.

Seems the "automatically record the next series" feature is not all it's cracked up to be. Maybe the change of presenters confused it.

First minute or so..
That's not "the first none-uk presenter of Top Gear"

10 mins : A bit staged.
I know it was always staged, but felt very obvious.

12 minutes : FFS, that "some say.." joke is now about 15 years old!!

Blackpool, terribly staged but fun to watch.

Star in a reasonably priced car .. Another 15 year old segment.
I was hoping they'd at least attempt to make a new show, but... Nope...

Nomad : Matt LeBlanc isn't too bad as a presenter. I've seen worse..
Chris "Like a movie!"
Matt laughs, but you know he's thinking "it didn't bloody well pay like one..."

The rest was fun to watch, tooI
I enjoyed it.
It was a bit of old and new, but mostly old.
I think I'd've preferred more new, though.

I'm now going to see if the BBC3 spinoff show is any good.

... Having said that.. If a new top gear ended up like this BBC 3 spinoff is, then it'd be utter shite. In comparison, the main show is amazing!!!

I didn't know it was on either. Will watch it at some point. Maybe.

I didn't mind it, to be honest. Better than I expected.

The Extra Gear thing tho..... no. I'm just glad that that's where they've shovelled all the no-mark presenters to, as I won't be watching it again. Total horse shit.

Never watched it... I've been pretty much bastard knackered for the last few days... Just got over a bit of a golfing marathon, oh my... Played Houghton-le-spring golf course, and, jesus, it throttled me, and my mate... And he bloody jogs for a hobby (Yes, he's mental)

P.S. And I was pissed on Sunday too!

Fwiw.
I don't think the problem was Chris. Chris just didn't fit the Clarkson shaped hole, and the "crew" didn't seem happy to change the show to fit the presenter.

There's a lot of stuff going around that Evans has been questioned by the police over an alleged sexual assault in May. If that's correct then it'd be a safe bet that the crap viewing figures aren't the only reason he's gone. Probably not even the main reason.

Oh dear....

Not just 70s tv celebs, then?

Is sexual abuse part of the job description with these celebs?

Just to clarify, when I said a sexual assault in May, I did not mean in James May.
