Any of you lot got a dashcam? Been mulling it over for months and I'd like a rear-facing one, too. Looking at the Nextbase Duo but it's kinda big and I don't really want something that ’’visible’’.

I see so many fucktards on the roads on an almost daily basis, I've said I'm going to get a dashcam for ages, before I come unstuck with one of the dozy cunts.

Pros/cons of the Nextbase Duo.

+ Front/rear cams in one unit with synced recording/playback.
+ Price is reasonable(ish)
+ Good reviews
+ Good picture quality (720p)

- Not 1080p
- Size
- Not at all discreet
- Target for thieves

No idea really!?!

I've never really thought about getting one if I'm honest!

But I do agree... the roads are chocker with plebs!

Do you need the two in-sync? Might be cheaper to go for two separate units rather than a "we made it with TWO cameras!" option. You just know they'll hike the price for such a feature!

Well, it's also for convenience. If I want a front camera and a separate rear camera, I have to fuck about installing wiring from the fuse box right to the back of the car. It's not that I couldn't do it... but I don't want to be all sodding day doing it.

Oh yeah, power..
Hmm...

Get a Solar powered one, and stick a panel on your roof.. You'll be fine

Just gaffer tape one of these on the bonnet, and one on the roof above the boot, and your laughing:-

I've got a NextBase single front-facing dashcam. It's a great bit of kit, with awesome HD footage, even at night. I have to say though that I have sometimes thught about getting a dual cam kit.

I plugged mine into the cigarette lighter port and hid the wire behind the furnishings - they are easy enough to move out and pop the wire under. Not as good as a pro fitting, but it does me.

I got it for the same reason as you - far too many idiots on the road.

Which model? Is it 720p or 1040p?

I mean, not having 1040p isn't a dealbreaker but it'd be nice to have the clearest footage possible in case it's ever needed, which is kinda the point. Night footage is a minor concern - we don't drive much at night but when we do... street lamps are an alien concept in this part of the world.

1040P - it's the 402G "High Definition Car DVR with GPS" according to the box.

I work nightshifts, so the night vision mode was a definite must-have for me. Definitely as many arseholes on the roads at stupid o'clock as there are in daylight hours.

I paid about £150 last year for it - it's down to £80 on Amazon now - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dashboard-Digital-Driving-Recorder-Professional/dp/B00D8YP50A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504638059&sr=8-1&keywords=nextbase+402g

1040p? I'd rather have 1080p. It's a full 40p better.

I'm sure it IS actually 1080p, but the upper 40 lines are used for Teletext data.

Yep, it's definitely 1080P - that's what happens when you reply without your brain kicking in. Night shifts have that effect!

My receipt is still in the box - I paid £129.00 (plus £20 for a memory card) on 23.04.2016.
