Couldn't get that many on a C90 either!

Gaffa tape is far superior for long term storage.

Sure prevents 'em from talking!

I managed. I copied a load of my games for a mate at school - he promised something for it and then jipped me, stating that they didn't work. Bastard. It took hours to do on my sister's dual-tape Amstrad Hi-Fi. I know they worked as I tested them.

I had over 300 original CPC games BITD; I had a friend who worked for MicroDealer International (the then distributer for all games to shops and warehouses etc. in the 80's) who got me games for peanuts. I got many games long before most had even heard of them and before they were reviewed. i also got games promotional merch and tat, including standees, stickers, posters etc. My room was covered in the stuff! Fond memories of "Thing On A Spring 2" wobbly things and Gunship T-shirts etc.

Yeah, CPC loaders were fairly well compressed. I was amazed at how long my friend's C64 would take to load from tape
.. then he got a disk drive, and..

... ..... that was no disk drive!!!

1541 was a bloody monster - almost the same size as the C64 itself!

Did the C64 disks actually load much quicker than tape? My mate's DD seemed to still take forever.

I don't recall him actually having any original game for his C64 - all were copies, disks and tapes! I did love listening to some of the music on the tape loaders though.

Yep, they did. Having played Defender of the Crown on both, I can testify that on the double cassette format, it was utter fucking agony.
