Frontpage Tweak

Tricky's recent showcase, with an image in the body of the showcase, ended up completely fucking up my frontpage script, ending up sprawling all over the screen in a horrible way.

As such, I've removed media from the frontpage's showcase snippets.

Screenshots are for screenshots.
Text is for text.

Sorry about that... On my monitor it showed just fine....
Perhaps an auto-resize can help for bigger pictures... Loads of community sites have such features built-in already.

We do have an autosize, but the little showcase frontpage thing will happily expand to whatever the heck is available, should it necessitate it.
On my iPad it looked alright, but on my monitor it was taking up half the screen, and that's not what I intended for those little showcase bubbles on the frontpage.

I was initially going to tweak your showcase to make it work better, but then I realised that if I left the door open, so to speak, then we could potentially end up with giant sprawling headers, and all kinds of other BBCode based shenanigans!

Better to close the possibility off, than struggle in future.

Understood...
To give a little cosmetic suggestion.... Perhaps if you leave the bb possibility in the article page itself (which I strongly suggest), it could be an idea to remove bb code from the frontpage snippets completely rather than showing the bbcode with the urls they can possibly link to. Frontpage snippets are mostly not really in need of flunkly bb-code anyway and articles in full mostly are.

Yeah, I'll probably dig through and "Remove BBCode" at some point. Right now it's ..
Utter chaos!!!

Ah, lemme guess... This site was set up with "dirty code" (If so, don't worry... I confess myself guilty, as well, when it comes to that).

Back in 2006, the forum CodersWorkshop was stomped all over by a rampaging Idigidragon.
This site was alarmingly-hastily cobbled together to replace it.
A complete rewrite was done in 2017, which I started doing rather functionally and well coded.. .. That didn't last very long

Ah, I remember Coder's Workshop.... I only left the place when its administrator (what was his name... He had MI2 Guybrush Threepwood for an avatar) ranted a bit about "danger of of missing income" after I made my Free List for Game Programmers public, and that attitude didn't appeal me... Didn't even take the trouble to end my account or anything, I just never visited the place ever since. So I must have missed that rampage you speak of, as it must have happened afterward. 2006? Was it really that long since I left the place.... Wow, time flies.

Yeah, websites can easily start beautiful and end ugly in the underlying script as enhancements come and go and as the needs website must fill change over time... Makes me miss the time of simple HTML code and where even CSS didn't exist.... Hahaha

Cyberseth... The admin trapped between a rock and a rampaging Idigidragon.

Needing a break from it all, he went on vacation, and while he was gone, Idigicon unceremoniously shut down the entire forum.
Gone forever.
No rhyme or reason.

I hope you don't mind me not shedding tears about this, given how I left.... But I'm glad the initiative was taken to create a new community.
I had my doubts about Idigicon for awhile already... I was considering to release one of my games through them, but I'm glad now that never happened 😆😆😁
I've seen a well-visited forum of my own go down the drain because of my host shutting everything down and I still don't know why since they never took the trouble to message me about it in any sort of way and whenever I tried to mail them no answer.... Typical....
