As much as I hate to admit it, one of the most fun calendars I've had was the Haynes Radio one...
And that was also a "one build, many parts" thing...

I've been put off by the one build things after NerdCubed did his RC Heli and it didn't even work at the end, LOL

Thankfully the radio build was mostly functional after just a few days...
.. the other days were kinda dull, like "now remove that capacitor, ooh, it's quieter." followed the next day by "Now try this capacitor. Ooohh, louder!!"
Still fun though.

I'd love for Lego to do single-build calendars. That'd be nice.

.. maybe not £65 though!

I'm not against part-builds, but when you can get the exact same model for less than 1/10th of the price, something is very obviously fucked up.

And yeah, NerdCubed chopper was a real LOL.

As for Lego, yeah a nice big build of 24 part-builds could be awesome

Oh, I see.,
Sorry, I saw "RC" and assumed it was remote controlled in some way..
... but.. no, it doesn't appear to be.
Hmmm.
