Now, officially in the apartment, are the two I had not done yet when I lived in MD, Playmobil Pirates and a Farm one. Then the stuffed animal one I ordered for this year and the one I ordered for next year, which is a MLP. So, I am set for the next 4 Christmases. Obviously other priorities this year.

But having a blast looking at everybody else's. As always, Rockford's is the most Craptacular! Nothing says Happy Birthday Baby Jesus like Hitler Scrotums.

Day Ten

..eventually. I completely forgot about this, this morning, Having forgot to do my Puzzle-A-Day calendar yesterday, and needing to do two days of that, this morning, I then continued to forget about Advent calendars.
*sigh*
Am I just getting old?!
I need a lie down.

Yeah. Looks like I'm going to have to take the rough with the smooth with this one. That's OK, because the good is very good. And the bad, isn't all that bad tbh.

BTW the alien is approx. 6cm in height, but can extend to over 30cm.

Oh is it?
Hmm..
I was thinking that big battle thing from the Prequels, where all the robot droid doohickeys came out of it.
.. But yeah, you're right, it's not that.
Bugger.
See, this is the problem with getting Star Wars tat.. I haven't the bloomin' foggiest what I'm looking at.

Jay, other than the hearts, I think I am liking Rockford's better than yours this year.

@Jay -

- Cream cheese & chive. Luvverly!!! Chilli too. Nom Nom Nom.
- Could you show us what you could have made...
- The B-Wing is one of my fave ships from the SW saga - shame it wasn't really seen much in the movies. It's also a fantastic UCS Lego build.

@Kuron - I really was expecting mine to be all kinds of crap this year. There's still (just under) two weeks left, so fingers crossed...

Just use regular craft glue (white glue). I would not use a hot glue gun for that, too tiny and would burn my fingers.
Sat, 11 Dec 2021, 06:04

Hot glue would also possibly melt the large polystyrene ball... I agree with Kuron the white PVA glue should do the job. They really should have given you some of that.

Overall, this is probably one of my most disappointing calendars, ever.
I mean, you could say the tea one didn't come with a kettle or mug, so that required extra parts, too. But I think it's reasonably safe to assume most people have those things.

So far I've needed three types of glue for this one, and I don't think a lot of people have that, especially not those who an advent calendar of crafts is aimed at. Most "proper" crafty people would ... make their own advent calendar!!!

Here we have this kind of glue, which is better for crafts than other types of white glue and will stick to almost anything, even things it is not recommended for and will be fine as long as kids aren't trying to tug it apart. Probably could have done everything you have needed so far. Have used it since the 70s for crafts, stick to Elmers for furniture and wood crafts though
