Hello World

I've been sitting here for an hour, and can't seem to get started doing this.
If this week's newsletter sucks, that'd be why!

Who am I kidding, you're only here for the Youtube bit..
     Skip away!!!

In the Shoutbox..
     Mostly tomatoes!

In the Mudchat..
     Sonic
     Blitz
     Flags
     and more of Noel's Balls.

Additionally..
Jay needs a calender, or something..
Forgot to put the feckin' Worklog thing up again.
     geeze..

Read Post$

Checkpoint

ShadowIce pops over to ask about checkpoints, in the only topic that's been posted all week.

Goto Links

The Future of Development (Afro)

Mr Machette popped in to link to one of those good old Lists that used to be all over the net.
     I miss Lists.
     Bring back the lists!!

Open Google (Jayenkai)

Google have opened up all manner of cool things, this week, including a really neat looking WebFont thing.
Apparently the were also going to release Face Recognition, but didn't due to privacy concerns!
socoder.net/?link=22945

More Google Luvin' (Spare)

And they're also giving developers loads and loads of space for stuff! (US Only)

Tabbing the same program (JL235)

A nice utility to allow you to use Alt+"That key next to 1" to flip between windows of the same program.
Handy Tip : If you have an "old fashioned" (proper) windows taskbar, it doesn't smush up all the windows together and you can click them properly, thus not needing this program at all!

Land of Ozis (Mog)

Fantastic looking 3D platformer that's made in Blitz3D.
     It's still got it!!

Moshboy's Sequels

Indie Games with Sequels

< Taking a good game, and making it better!

#8 - Knytt / Knytt Stories

A lovely screen-at-a-time game with nice simple graphics, and a whole lot of exploration.
The sequel may or may not be better. The verdict's still out on that one!

#9 - Ambush in/Return to Sector 9

A nice arena shooter with loads and loads of bullets! Yeay!
The sequel turns everything up a notch, with much nicer graphics, and big swirly backgrounds.

Pixel Prospector's Games

Kaizen's been super-duper busy this week, so only one game. But he's nearly done!!

Pylo Noveau

A GBA styled retro shooter platform game, with all manner of lovely little enemy sprites.
Some nice little gameplay ideas, and a wonderful "professional" feel the whole game. Great stuff.

Curly Games!

Pater Alf continues on his adventure game quest, this week! He's playing a lot of these! How does he fit them all in?

Eternally Us

A great looking point'n'click, but apparently quite a sad one.
Pater says : "I played this game just a few days after the mother of one of my best freinds died and it sure was an interesting emotional experience (even if it wasn't a happy one)."

Cower vs HoboBen

Who's posted more?!

Random Land (HoboBen)

Starting to build up a nice terrain generator, HoboBen begins with a way to make a nice heightmap.

Random Terrain (HoboBen)

Next, he adds rivers and streams, ice, rain, wind and more.
socoder.net/?blogs=22947

NinePatch (Cower)

Meanwhile, Noel creates a "Set of nine" gui element, so you can quickly create backgrounds and surrounds for your gui.
socoder.net/?snippet=22931

NUIT (Cower)

And then creates an entire GUI for BlitzMax!

A library that helps you organise, and report your errors.
