#085 - Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

The news in this letter
is all kinds of geeky,
I write it on Fridays,
and post it out weekly.

It's filled with fun games
and some links you can view,
so why not Subscribe?

Chapter One

December, I shiver,
the days have gone cold.
The nights are much worse
but the news must be told.

The year starts to end,
and the regular style
of the newsletter
hasn't been right for a while.

The time will come soon,
for a brand new newsletter.
Hopefully people will
think it much better.

And so we will bid it
a final farewell,
as we type the last words
of our Newsletter tale.

Chapter Two

Things that are finished,
and done through the week,
get listed on Wednesdays
so we can all peek.

Some think it quite useless,
but others write plenty.
We say what we did,
so our lives don't look empty.

We talk about cars,
and how icey they've got.
We mention our hols,
and some things we forgot.

If you want to see
what we managed this week,
you can go to the page,

Chapter Three

Inside of the Mudchat,
Diablo and Stealth
continued to build up
a site to full health.

Diablo created
a lovely new site.
Where people can visit
and learn how to write.

You program a game,
then it runs on the page.
It's the loveliest site
of our digital age.

So now Stealth, Diablo
and also a Hobo
are writing some games
that the people can follow.

The website is running,
if you want to try some.
You can play with them at
PlayMyCode.com

Chapter Four

The posts on our forum
are quiet of late,
since Twitter and Facebook
have status update.

But every so often
somebody decides
"It's time for a post."
To the forums they ride!

Like beardy Steve Ancell,
who posted a link
to a site with Amigas
that made people think.

Could Amiga take off,
in a world full of Windows?
Just one way to see.

Chapter Five

The Month before Christmas,
for all kinds of reasons,
The coders were coding
their games for the season.

They typed lots of keywords,
like If, While and For.
Indented with tabs
and used brackets galore.

A game starring Santa
with presents to catch.
A puzzle with bombs,
and a jigsaw to match.

The people downloaded,
and thought them quite nice,
as they played with their feet up
on Christmas Eve night.

I wonder which one of
the games is the best,
We'll just have to wait
for the judges to test.

If you'd like to try them
and see if they're fun,
Then head to the post

Chapter Six

If that's not enough,
and you need to play more,
there are many more games
on the site, to explore.

Like this game made by Eikon,
with tacos and stars,
and a unicorn man
who can travel quite far.

He blasts through the stars
with the grace of a brick,
and makes leisurely use of
his double jump trick.

Beware of the taco
that looks slightly strange,
it slows you down!

Chapter Seven

Another game? Blimey!
You don't ever tire!
At this rate your fingers
will start to perspire.

Luckily, Jay Parker
wrote a game, too.
It's simple, so you ought to
know what to do.

A game with a santa
and snow all around,
who needs to build cubes
from the ice that he's found.

Collecting the snow
from the bags in the level.
Santa makes steps.

Chapter Eight

And now, the last chapter.
Most people prefer it,
I link to some vids,
that are sometimes perverted.

A video that you'll
have already seen,
is a digital tale.

While a night that is holy
gets all twisted and torn,
by a man called Mulholland.

And lastly a song
that will last through the ages.
This song is the truth.
