A new website has emerged called 8BitFunding. The general gist is that you create a donation page for your up and coming game, they take donations, you rake in the proceeds, and that gives you the kick up the ass you need to get things done! Unfortunately, it's resulted in a bunch of wannabe developers showing the absolute greediest bastard parts of their development skills. Maybe I'm jealous. Maybe if, as a kid, I'd been given that little boost, I'd be somewhere completely different right now. Maybe I'd have a different outlook on life, and would happily spend money on a Pandora to make BlockmanPandora like an emailer asked me earlier. But I'm not there, I'm here. I'm the lone developer who goes it alone, and enjoys the very best bits of raw development. The fun parts of coding, the joy of it all working, the crazy insanity of random ideas. And sitting here seeing post after post after post of whinging little shits going "Gimme gimme gimme gimme gimme" is, quite frankly, winding me up to breaking point.
