I gave up with Capaldi - not because of him par se, but the stories were dull, repetitive (Daleks/Cybermen AGAIN???) or just plain stupid. Doctor Who has always been silly (and some of my fave episodes have been very silly - Blink and Love & Monsters for instance), but that season took it up to 13.

I had/have nothing against a female Doctor - I just didn't have any faith in the production team to give anything worth watching.

Let me know if it's worth going back to; I do miss it. The Christopher Eccleston (especially) and David Tennat series were mainly excellent to me and my family. If they can recapture that magic, then I'll be back!

Capaldi could have been a much better doctor had he been given a good writing team. Best episode was the one where he was locked inside the pocket watch thing and was on his own for the full episode. I was looking forward to him being quite a grumpy doctor, but nope, they wrote his a a happy wonnabe rock star, horrible.

I'm just glad they stopped mentioning sheffield every couple of sentences.
