I am in a minority, probably a fraction of a percent of Cobra's potential market and .:. I understand that it's not practical to cater for everyone.

But getting back to my point about the alterntives. Companies like IBM, Sun Microsystems and Microsoft have large full time teams working on compilers and compiler optimisations. These work with the full time teams at Intel and AMD who are experts<snip>

Oh, undoubtedly Coders Workshop dissapearing must have really hurt Graham.

I can't even imagine how annoyed I would be had I been in the same position as him and having invested so much time writing a language.

I've been loosley involved with Idigico<snip>

I'd recommend using a CMS too, but I think that coding your own would be a waste of time.

Well as an example, Graham seemed to be keen to have some people code graphics demos in it. Pixel blitting is <snip>

You don't need to learn assembly language, after using freebasic quite a lot for the last few years I find properly optimised FB to be every bit as fast as good C++ code.

They are fantastic projects to code.
I've had lots of fun making portals in php and mysql.

The most fun I have is making content management systems, made some nice cash out of it too on rentacoder.com (though it can be difficult to win bids at first).

I'm thinking of dropping support for the language from my forum tbh because nobody seems to want to use it.
