Nothing much, just a fun little game that's based on an old Atari 8bit game called O'Riley's Mine. It's in black and white as that's the only kind of TV I had back in the day (colour wasn't until much later) :/

So all you have to do is use the arrow keys to move around and collect prizes, then take them back to the nagging mothership. You can press spacebar to drop a bomb - which temporarily creates a boulder which baddies can't get past - but water can destroy.

Avoid the water, and the baddies at all costs. Also, be careful with movement - it's not easy and I'd avoid going diagonal until you've sussed it

Also, then when the moon is up then all hell can break loose - baddies can go faster and some prizes can turn nasty - avoid until moon has gone away!

Anyway, have fun for the five mins of your time that it's worth

Also, please don't moan at the size of the executable - GameMaker Studio 2 seems to inflate things to planet-sized proportions! My complete project directory is less than 12MB in size - and that's with source materials. God only knows how it makes it to over 50MB.

Hey ho.

Wow, 50 mb! Funny that the original game back then was under 50 kilobytes

Sweet lord, that's huge!

A nice little game. Maybe a bit "twitchy" control-wise, but I know what a right pain analogue-vs-grid movement can be like, so I can't complain!
Yeah, nice. Took me about 3 or 4 attempts to realise I shouldn't start digging near the top of the screen.

Yeah, don't do that

Also, due to the nature of the digging rules (you can't dig more than a single lane) you can actually end up in a situation where you can't get a prize. To get around this, just stop close to a prize and it'll float right on over to you.

I checked this in the original game - it's possible to end up in a no-win situation due to this. However, the movement in the original prohibits diagonals so it's so much less likely to happen.
