Boiling your feet with a pan of scalding water is NOT a good idea

I had socks on, but they were melting to my skin. I pulled them off and ripped/degloved skin from my left big toe. Thankfully no other toes were as badly affected.

I don't think it's as bad as I first thought it would be, but I haven't looked at it in a few hours, due to being at work. I'll see in the morning when I get home.

I dropped a gearbox on my foot once and that left some mega bruising, trying to imagine what boiling water on feet feels like makes my toes curl.

I was working all night, so I've only just got up and taken the dressing off to have a look.

It doesn't look too bad tbh (it feels really itchy and tingly though and weeping a bit). It's only my left big toe; thankfully sticking my plates of meat in a bowl of cold water prevented damge to the other toes.

I did it while cooking; when I'm in the kitchen I like to be alone - there were so many distractions yesterday (people and dogs) that I picked up a boiling pan thinking it would be heavier than it actually was and hoisted it skyward. About a pint of boiling water and contents ejected from the pan all over my left foot. It's odd that only one toe was affected, despite the water being over the whole foot.

I'll leave it open to the air for a bit then redress it before going to work later.

> Reveal 🔎

It'll hopefully scab over soon with no permanent damage. Nothing too serious at least.

Oh dear! Ming!!! <---- lol, bit rich me saying that, lol!

So, lets tally the casualty list up:-

1) Jay (Head)
2) Spinal (Foot lump)
3) Me (Arse)
4) Rockford (Toe)

They say it comes in three... But christ, being a member of SoCoder isnt half bad for your health!

Everyone else, be careful out there, the Great Curse Of The Coder of So's has been unleashed, and you could be next!!!

Don't forget Spinal's foot lump! We still get about 20-odd visitors a month because of that!!

Well, your toe doesn't look too bad, considering what happened.
Could've been MUCH worse than that!!

Glad you survived!

Still get visitors for the foot bubble? wow. I remember the time I ran my foot over with a pedestrian stacker. That hurt a bit, might have broken something but never went to get it looked at. That foot still gives me a little bother. Would have cried if there wasn't a handful of lads watching me.
