I really don't get how they are still stringing along the backers with all this outdated bullcrap!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh FACEBOOK ALERT... WARNING... FACEBOOK ALERT!!! *Dabz runs*

Then comes back quickly to say...

Retro is king at the minute mind, and rightly so for me, would I rather put RetroPi on or visit Steam?

There is only one winner IMO, take the other night, I was shagged out, spent 2 hours ploughing through Toejam and Earl for the Mega Drive... Never played it for years, but I enjoyed myself, when have I ever done that with a AAA PC (None VR) game... Erm, a lonnng lonnng time ago!

And I still love my Amstrad, SpinDizzy, Chase HQ and Dizzy games, they all still appeal to me, and its nice I have the hardware to enjoy them on.

So yeah, I can see the draw for people, if it was something like an Amstrad CPC rehash, I'd support it, and if it went tits up, sorta hope and pray it would come together at the end. Because thats how it is, its an emotional thing I suppose, back to the glory days and all that.

I've been watching the ZXNext stuff with interest.
Mr Lemmings (@mdf200) seems to be having a whale of a time with it.

The problem with the ZX Next though is the bloomin' price. And if it weren't for a few certain nobjobs doing a runner with the 600 grand kickstarter cash, the people that backed the Vega+ would have had their consoles long ago. I won't mention too much on here, especially the names of the thieving gits that are involved, just incase the Google trawler spins the spotlight over here. What I can say is it there's been an ongoing court case and RCL are blaming anyone and everyone for production not starting.

Some of the people that are licking RCL's arse are well known game developers. But like I said above, I can't mention their names on here because they might start doxing the fuck out of any members on here if they catch this topic, you'll just have to Google or search Facebook if you wanna learn what's been going on for the past couple of years. It's a right fucking mess that's torn a divide right through some of the retro communities.

It was also discovered that one of the so-called heads of the Vega+ team has done time for drug trafficking a few years back, she was convicted a Chichester but I can't remember how long the sentence was, and another one of them has also been involved in organised crime and stuff.

'ere Jay, while you have been researching the ZX Next, did you know that Phil and Andy Oliver have deployed a Dizzy game on it?

It's interesting to see all this interest in what is essentially a souped up oldskool system. But it hasn’t yet reached anywhere near the levels that (IMO) it needs to.
The RPi seemed to gain much more attention.
.. is that all down to cost, do you think?

Yeah it's down to cost. If they slashed the price by about 2/3 then they would probably sell shedloads of them.

There is rumours that Clive got a payout for endorsing RCL, I'm not too sure how true that is though. What I do know is RCL and its disciples have been blaming anyone and everyone for the product not coming to light, they even tried to pin it all on Paul Andrews at one point. At them moment they seem hellbent on saying that haters are the problem, well it that's just plain bullshit, it will be far easier if the head cheeses just admit they tried to pull a scam and got caught, coz that's the truth.
