What a day...

Eeeee... What a day...

Just thought I'd share my adventures of the 30th July 2018.

First off, work was mental, thats a given due to it being shutdown, I was in charge of the fire panel while people were going around testing the devices in one of the shops (Smoke detectors, heat detectors and call points), there's bloody hundreds of the things and they all report back to the panel when they get activated.

So, [pretendy] fire comes in, board goes BEEP, lcd goes "FIRE", it churns out a little print out, I tell whoever is in that area that "Its in" over the radio as the dectors are high, the down lights are pretty glarey and you cannot see if the lights come on on the detector. After telling whoever in that area, I then take note of the zone, loop and device numbers, then cross reference them on a plan of the shop and mark them off accordingly on said plan. After 40 activations, I reset the panel and off we go again.

All busy busy, and not too bad really, only that the plan drawing of the devices and their respective numbers is absolutely tiny, I have good eye sight, but christ on a moped, I was having to proper squint to try and find the buggers, all the while the boards going BEEP, new ones are coming in, after reset, repeaters come in too (As there is still gas floating around in the device after I reset), oh, and not to mention, for a couple of hours, we were a radio down and I had to tell one of the lads their devices were in by SMS text... You should see our conversion on iMessage:-

"Its in"
"Its in"
"Its in"
"Its in"
"Its in"
"Its in"
"Its in"
"Its in"
Rinse repeat god knows how many times!!!

So, I finish work, and I'm off to play a nice round of golf... I literally get there, see me marra, as I'm talking to him, I open my boot, I then look in, and yep... No golf clubs, I turn to him and go "You never guess what"

With that, I proceed to into the club shop, pay my green fees and then £7.50 to hire the crappiest set of golf clubs I've ever laid eyes on, I'm not joking... I had a wood, 8 iron, 5 iron, 3 iron and [lol]a putter... That was it, well, not the end of it, the wood looked like a giant conker on the end of a stick, the irons were older then St Andrews and the putter looked like a leg from a starving person who had gout in his foot!

I then proceed to the first tee, tee off with one of these "things", it went, on my merry way I went, 3rd hole in, I heard thunder, looked at the sky, bit moody, said "Here tom, that looks a bit fruity up there", just got the words out of my mouth, and it absolutely pissed down, torrential styleeee. So there I was, hidden under a tree, said to my mate "I'm giving this another few minutes then I'm going off like", he said it'll pass... 5 minutes later, it got heavier, I decided to make a dash for it back to the clubhouse. By the time I got to the car you'd of thought I'd did 50 lengths in a swimming pool with all my clothes on.

EVERYTHING SOAKING, including and not limited too my undergarments, they were sopping!!!

Sooooooooo, I get home, ringing, empty my pockets, and though and behold, I have the van keys in my pocket, the van which has everything in it for the testing, which wouldnt be too bad if I was in tomorrow, but its my day off... Looks like Michael is getting up early tomorrow to drop them off!

All in all... I literally cannot wait to go to sleep tonight, and leave this day behind... Its been... Odd to say the least!
