After yesterday's shenannigans, I think I need to bird-proof my light fittings.

How Beaky is still alive is what baffles me.

Little fucker was having a right squawk and squeak at it, so I grabbed the bugger so I can look at the wiring.

Then took down the pendant, and found that the live wire was nearly severed.

And then had to lop-off about 50mm, then re-strip and fit it back up there.

That bird must have an impenetrable beak or something, lucky bird or what!

Bottom of the stairs, yeah!, the beaky fucker's had that one too.

Foook...
We've had numerous budgies during the 90s, but all our lights are raised above a false ceiling, so there aren't any wires poking out.

Perhaps you could do with fixtures like this, that hide the wire "under" (technically over!) themselves.
Also, a duct-tape based beak-closure-system might be warranted

I was thinking more towards corks on the ends of their beaks.

My ceilings are about 50cm above the tops of the windows, I was thinking about using that false ceiling idea. Or I could put in some down lighters and just do away with the central fixture.
