So apart from widescreen backgrounds and the cartoons how is it remastered?

It's been redone using Taxman's Sonic Engine, so the engine used for the more recent Sonic CD, Sonic 1, Sonic 2 remakes and Sonic Mania, too.

I don't *think* Taxman's involved but Stealth (not our Stealth, Stealth from SonicRetro forums) is apparently involved, so that's a good sign. He was also involved in the earlier remakes under the name of "Headcannon Games"

The Sonic Retro engine is a nice silky smooth 60fps engine and (assuming from previous editions) the devs take great pride in recreating the levels as well as possible, and also maybe adding some extra juicy bits along the way.

I saw Yongs look into the release editions... Not really confused myself, basically, release basic game for £5 [or $] cheaper then the delux version, everyone will pay the extra fiver anyway, Sega get free marketing time on loads of platforms with people playing hell, or saying how disappointed they are, or even discussing the apparent confusing release editions.

For Sega, the small negative aspect is dwarfed by the huge bonus marketing caused by peoples "reaction" to the setup, very clever of Sega if you ask me, the only devious thing Sega have actually done is play gamers!

Imagine if one of them was your other half and they practiced in the house... Complete and utter nightmare!

Pretty good though!

Hmm.. NintendoLife Linkage

Looks like any Stealth/Taxman involvement is purely "We did previous work on these remakes, but now SEGA's taken over everything."

So.. um..
Yeah..
I'll wait for the reviews, now, I think.
