What Have You Done - June 2022

Ups

What did you get done this Month?
  • Not a Lot
  • Mostly Rested
  • Lazy Jay

Did everything turn out as planned?
Pretty much. I rested well, watched a lot of TV, and didn't really do much in the way of coding.

    Downs

    What didn't you get done?
  • RetroRaider Amiga

    Why not?

I couldn't understand what BlitzAmiga wanted me to do, and as much as I tried, I eventually gave up.
It would've been nice to have done it, but ultimately I gave up trying.
I might tackle it again, later on down the road.

    Now

What are you working on right now?
    This week's newsletter.

    How's that going?
It needs padding out a bit, so I made this thread!

    Next

What's the plan for the next Month?
  • Back to AGameAWeek
  • Learning Ableton
  • Pulling my hair out

    ---

You can copy+paste the BBCode from the box below, or structure however else you'd like...

    Ups

What did you get done this Month?
  • Recieved a new doll, yay! Then ended up attempting fixes on her as she arrived with injuries which was sad :/
  • Sent Kaede off for repairs after finding out what went wrong with her. She came back within a week all better, which was lovely, I'd missed her lots
  • Some NES coding, looking for other publishers
  • Signed up for some freelancer sites, just to get some bonus waifu pennies

Did everything turn out as planned?
Nope, Kaeli was not as advertised and I spent a lot of time and had a lot of pain attempting to loosen her hip joint, it put me in a really depressed mood for a while as nothing seemed to work. Nothing safe anyway and I don't want to risk her. So, I ended up re-sealing her wound with TPE glue and, whilst it's left a scar, it's not noticable even with her pink skirt on.
Upwork seems very hit and miss, (I guess they never miss, huh) I'm going to persist with it for a month though.
Need to get my arse in gear and send some Gameboy games out into the ether

    Downs

    What didn't you get done?
  • Flip me, I dunno.

    Why not?

    Now

What are you working on right now?
    Typing this out

    How's that going?
    Nearly finished

    Next

What's the plan for the next Month?
  • Level Up my Gym and exercise in general
  • GET A GAME DONE!
  • Earn at least £100 on upwork

I'm improving I think. I use references a lot though.

These above are based on 'tales of yore' and a Amiga game called 'galactic warrior rats' The last one was more of a turn 16x16 into 8x8 and do some minor adjustments to color and details.

They're really nice and, there's no shame in using reference art, the colour scheme on the bottom right is rather spingly!

The bottom right has a copper pipe like lighting. That by adding a very white shine and flowing down to the edge. I see that in a number of games from the amiga era. I use a custom palette called ape-64 I think it is called.

The others I intent to start learning how to match the Cannon Fodder and chaos engine like style and such. These are more complex however. This wil take a while

    Yeah, the bottom right's lovely.
It's reminding me of pacman, but I'm not sure which Pac-Man version it's reminding me of!!
