Apple pencil 2 - entering the art world.


I ordered a Apple pencil 2 yesterday. I just got it an hour ago or so.

I got 4 pencil tips with it. I also got Procreate. You have to press hard for thick lines. So the pencil tip would be gone quick. Reviews mention half a year before one is worn out.

Pixel art apps seem not to be that modded for pencils. But the tools like pixaki can use them. I am beta testing pixquare with it too. Double tap on the pencil(anywhere) switches between eraser and brush.

That advertised cursor below the pencil seems not implemented on any tool yet. The pencil can be used like a laser gun to select items from a list.

I got procreate and wil be investigating on how to use this.

Having been drawing a lot this year. I thought i'd could get a pencil and try that out. My own drawing app could be tweaked to be able to use it too.



My first procreate sketch. I have no real deep skill yet and this image above would require a lot of touching up. I can not really draw at a good level yet.

Edit : the pencil magnetically locks to the iPad and then charges. It went from 65 to 100 in no time at all. Connecting it went without me having to find any setting or whatever.

I am on a break now. I have been drawing a number of hundred of hours since 2016. So I should be able to get something looking ok'ish. But I expect it to take me a couple of thousand hours of study to be comfortable.
