1. Death

In the first movie, the plot was that Adam and Barbara die in the accident, then continue to haunt the house until they realise they've died and then use the Handbook to guide them into the afterlife.
In this movie, two characters die and instantly end up in the afterlife.

Big fucking plothole, right there.

2. Death

There are two main plot threads running through this movie.
The B-Plot, which is way more fucking interesting than the A-Plot (IMHO), is a ghost of a murderer, who befriends one of the family, tricking her into essentially selling her soul. When she goes with him (through the draw-a-square door) she is inevitably taken away to the "Soul Train", which is a neat idea. I get that. I'm ok with that. That's cool.
Quite why everyone else is also taken directly to the Soul Train when they simply died and didn't sell their soul. That is NEVER explained, and just "is"

Anyway, the B-Plot is wrapped up by Betelejuice opening a trapdoor. That's that, story over, next.
It's almost as if the Smallville writers had gotten used to writing stories where the way out of a "freak of the week" bad guy was to have Clark run at them really fast, and then suddenly everything is solved. This felt very very very much like that.

The A-Plot, however...

3. Death

Well, that also goes fucking nowhere, and is completely wasted, too.
The bride of Beatlesdeuce runs amok, sucking the souls from dead people. Once she's back in the real world, she tracks Bleetejuice to the church where she's killed off by a Sandworm. .. You know those giant bloody great big monstrosities of a sandworm from the first movie. One of those somehow swirls and twirls around inside a tiny church for a minute or so. Somehow. Even though they're ginormous, and the church is small, and there's really no room for that, it still happens anyway.
And then it eats her, and that's that plot line done with.
Again, zero payback for the plot line, it just ends.
Exactly the same as the B-Plot.

4. Death

Then Lydia says Bteeliejuice three times and he dies*.
And then they all go home.
Except the ones who are dead.
And they kinda get a "Oh, you're dead? Ok, bye.." send off. That was REALLY fucking disappointing. No feels, no emotions, just "OK, bye now."
But then they end up on the Soul Train for no valid reason anyway, so hey.. plot lines.. who cares, right!?
