Yesterday I started looking for versions of The Sims Online that still remain, well, online, because I wanted to show off my progress with Project Dollhouse to my colleagues at EA. It took me a while but I found one. EA themselves hosted the client for a number of years after the servers went offline, but eventually someone took down the dusty old FTP server in the back of their server farm. I don't know if hosting the client still is strictly legal, but it's not my server so I don't take the responsibility. Pretty much all the data from The Sims + all the EPs is there, though some of it exists in a slightly modified form, because... Maxis, their fileformats are a clusterfuck, so even if you had the old Sims executable(s), you wouldn't be able to play the game. If you want to play Project Dollhouse, I suggest you download the client now, while you still can! The zip file contains a bunch of *.cab files that can be opened with 7-zip. The actual installer is really awesome, but I'm not sure if it runs on modern OSs, let alone modern hardware. -=-=- Afr0 Games Project Dollhouse on Github - Please fork!
