The AI Overlords are among us. Labour aim to make the UK into some sort of AI Super-Hub.

Thread Rules

This is not an "People A would've, People B are stupid, People C are more intelligent" thread
This is a "is this a good idea in general, and how bad/good will it impact the country/global AI infrastructure" thread

The problem with A.I is that it isn't. Current "A.I" is just predictive text 2.0. It has been trained on 'the internet' which is full of completel useless nonsense. If you use the statistice of the internet to make any sort of real world decisions, you will only ever get watered down less accurate information that you would get if you catually emploeys a human expert. Not only that an "A.I" can't learn or have ideas.

I think it depends entirely on how it's used. Sensibly, I would hope.
I compared it earlier to how in the early 80s we had the BBC doing all the work they did with computers, and making BASIC a language that everyone was familiar with.
That might be a nice future to be in.
..

They'll bugger it up.
