Create an exe, add frames/ folder in the same directory. 2. Run exe plain - This will generate 6,666 numbered frames of a starfield. (Takes a while!) (This is roughly 4.5 minutes worth of starfield at 25fps, which for AL's 2 minute choons is more than enough) 3. Copy ffmpeg.exe into the folder. 4. Copy an mp3 into the folder, then drag the mp3 onto the .exe - This will (hopefully!!) generate an .mp4 video in the same folder, with the starfield in the background, a waveform in the middle, and artist/title on the top left. How it works That single line of ffmpeg is enough to tell it what to do, but bloody hell was it a pain in the arse to get it working!! The ffmpeg command is made up of several parts. (assuming "Deconstructed Atmosphere.mp3" as the mp3.) ffmpeg -i frames/%04d.bmp -i "Deconstructed Atmosphere.mp3" Open the frames and the mp3 as described. -filter_complex " We're going to be doing complex filter stuff! nullsrc=size=1920x1080 [base]; Create a 1920x1080 buffer [1:a]showwaves=s=1920x1080:mode=line:rate=25:split_channels=1, Take the audio (File #1, (a)udio), and generate a split-channel waveform at a rate of 25 fps. drawtext=fontfile=ALaFont.ttf:text='AL ODARE':fontcolor=white:fontsize=128:x=32:y=32, Add a line of text "AL ODARE" drawtext=fontfile=ALaFont.ttf:text='Deconstructed Atmosphere':fontcolor=white:fontsize=72:x=32:y=96, Add a second line of text colorkey=0x000000:0.3:0.5[wave], Take everything you've drawn, cut out anything that's close to black (0.3 tolerence, 0.5 fade) and store the entire image into memory as [wave] [0:v]scale=1920:1080[layers], For item #0 (the image), scale it to 1920x1080, then store it as [layers] [base][layers]overlay[tmp1]; Go back to the base layer, and add our layers layer, then store the result as tmp1. [tmp1][wave]overlay[output]" Take that, and overlay the wave layer on top, then store it all as output. (and the quote mark finishes off the filter_complex) -map "[output]" -map 1:a Map the resulting output to the video, and add the audio as...the audio!! -codec:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p -crf 18 -preset fast -codec:a aac -b:a 192k Generic codec gubbins -shortest tells it to stop when the shortest event is reached.. in this case, when the audio ends. Deconstructed_Atmosphere.mp4 output filename. --v And that took roughly a day and a half to get working .. "functionally" It's not 100%, and I'll be pissing about with the starfield to generate all manner of silly things, but at least the thing works, and is generating lovely .mp4 videos which I can now upload to Youtube!
