Finally got my video rendering doing roughly what I want, but now it doesn't bloody well stop when the music ends... FFS...

Will post code once (*if!) I'm all done, but today's been an exercise in hair pulling.

FFMpeg = Frustratingly Fucked Mpeg!!

Classic Blitz2D/3D code FTW!!

How to Use
1. Create an exe, add frames/ folder in the same directory.

2. Run exe plain - This will generate 6,666 numbered frames of a starfield. (Takes a while!)
(This is roughly 4.5 minutes worth of starfield at 25fps, which for AL's 2 minute choons is more than enough)

3. Copy ffmpeg.exe into the folder.

4. Copy an mp3 into the folder, then drag the mp3 onto the .exe - This will (hopefully!!) generate an .mp4 video in the same folder, with the starfield in the background, a waveform in the middle, and artist/title on the top left.

How it works

That single line of ffmpeg is enough to tell it what to do, but bloody hell was it a pain in the arse to get it working!!

The ffmpeg command is made up of several parts.

(assuming "Deconstructed Atmosphere.mp3" as the mp3.)

And that took roughly a day and a half to get working .. "functionally"
It's not 100%, and I'll be pissing about with the starfield to generate all manner of silly things, but at least the thing works, and is generating lovely .mp4 videos which I can now upload to Youtube!

Huzzah!!!

I like ffmpeg, handy for converting videos for such things as a DS movie player. Recently had trouble compiling it to run on a 3ds though... That'll be handy if it ever works :-p

Nuts.. Now SyncToy is sitting here "backing up" 6,666 .bmp files!
