Really need to get more exercise. Walked a mile and a half in 20 minutes with the dog earlier and my legs are knackered now. Should do it more often.

Honestly mate, I hardly walk anywhere these days other than from the office to the kettle and back again.

And to think 20 years ago I used to bike ten miles a day, every day, without breaking a sweat.

We've got a rowing machine. We use it to hang washing on.

I walk between 6-10miles a day with my dogs, let alone other walking with my job and in general.

I've always been a walker, ever since I was a kid. If I didn't walk now, I'd be fecking huge due my penchant for large portions and crap foods. I'm big, but walking certainly helps keep my weight steady. I can (and do) still comfortably wear jeans and trousers that I bought 10-15 years ago.

I went to the GP for a "Wellness" session in February - I've never been in my (new) surgery since it was relocated/built 15 years ago; my last 2 GPs retired and I never even met one of them!!

Other than a slightly raised BMI (which is a bullshit measure anyway as it doesn't take into account lifstyle or muscle mass etc.) I was gobsmacked when my bad cholesterol level was well low and good cholesterol was great and blood glucose levels were perfect.

So I'm feeling old and parts of me are wearing out fast, but I should still be around for a bit longer. No "Booooos" at the back unless it's alcohol!

They keep nagging me to go for the "wellness" thing. Haven't been cos they're going to say "you're fat, go for a walk".

Don't need a doc to tell me that.

I walk to work, about a mile or so, not far. Walk around most of the day at work, then walk home. My legs are in pretty good shape. However, I eat mostly junk food so the rest of me is a little over a stone over weight. Never had a proper checkup though, cholesterol and sugar are probably quite bad.

I float about the 13 clem mark, I have a pretty active job, so, any unfitness will probably be due to the cancer sticks I ram in my gob.

Soon as I'm betterererer, I'll be back out playing golf, last time I played, pre-divorce era, I managed to drop down t-shirt sizes to a medium, which was brill, just by playing golf (4 times a week)... Back up into XL land now, but, thats pretty much due to working away and drinking/eating shite constantly and not really doing anything to shift it.

So, roll on the next 3 or 4 weeks cos I'm itching to be out swinging them clubs!

13 stone?? Chuffing hell, I'd make nearly two of you. But at least I'm 6ft 3 to go with it so I'm no sumo wrestler.

it is amazing how heavy ones "meat" is... Sometimes when I'm asleep I'll sleep in such a way that my arm will be dead, like, I'll wake up and have no control of it... For a laugh I twist and turn and the dead arm just flings anywhere and I cannot feel nowt. Once I tried to pick it up with my other arm and Jesus, then things are heavy on the sly... Your arm is basically like a brand new roll of lead!

Yup, done that recently. woke up in the middle of the night, couldn't feel my left arm, was leaning on it or something. When I rolled over I had to physically pick it up and move it because it didn't follow. And yeah, heavy. The thing is, if you have full feeling, there's no way to get it to feel that heavy, you just can't.

When that happens i use me good arm to flop the dead one over the side of the bed. Gets the blood flowing quicker.

My extreme laziness has helped me work my way back up to my 11 stone.
I went into hospital at about 10 since I hadn't been eating properly.

During hospital time, where I was being sick every fucking day over the course of about 4 whole months, I managed to drop to about 7 stone, and got all the docs and nurses freaking out. They got the nutritionists to come and see me, and we all agreed I was eating pretty much fine.. I just wasn't holding it down.

Bah, humbug.
But like I said, I hit my usual weight and have now started to look a little podgier than I oughta which was why I had to get the treadmill, and even the little that I can manage is helping to stabilise things, which is nice.
