It still amazes me how many people think batteries have infinite rechargeability.
I worked as a VP for the IT dept for 4 years and people always brought me their work laptops confused that after 4 years would not take a charge.

I will never purchase a game console I can't replace the battery in.
Thankfully I did my homework for the Switch 1.

iFixit is an excellent site to find out just how repairable electronics are. Worth a bookmark if you plan to keep anything over 5 years these days.

Hopefully it won't need a factory reset, but I think if it did, I'd probably rather buy Mum a Switch 2, if I'm honest. If nothing else, it seems to be connecting to the controllers better from across the room! We haven't had any weird issues where the bluetooth glitches, like we had with the original.
It's not "too" noticeable in most games, but it's quite pronounced when playing Puyo Puyo Tetris, I guess because that requires more precision... Twitch gaming, and the like.
Or maybe the poor little bluetooth's worn out after all these years
