Socoder -> Question of the Day -> QOTD : I'm not fat!!!

Since I'm not eating chocolate anymore, my regular selection of snacks has become slightly duller than it oughta be.

I've eaten my way through enough Muffins, Pringles and Granola bars to last me a lifetime, and it's about time for a change.

Even Cherry and Raisin Flapjacks become boring after a while.

QOTD : What a good coding snack? (one that won't gunk up the keyboard!)

I used to eat nuts whilst I coded, but then I was soon buying large expensive bags of nuts and eating them within a few hours of Java. However plain nuts are nice and clean, both for the keyboard and your fingers.

I don't recommend noodles or Wheetabix, I used to get loads of stains and bits in my Chinese keyboard in HK.

But these days I don't eat much whilst coding. Just drink lots of coffee.

I can't really think of anything less messy than nuts either.

I can't, but in Hong Kong the only keyboard they sell are standard international English keyboards with 3 or 4 extra Chinese symbols on each key.

Rye Chips, they're good stuff. Don't get a huge mess of crumbs or anything, plus they're not as unhealthy as sweets. Good energy food...

I usually lie on the floor with the laptop, so when I eat, the crumbs go in front of me, nowhere near the keyboard. How about... no, you gave up chocolate, um... just stick to soft drinks and only eat food at meal times?

I might buy some ASDA special price chocolate to eat laterz. Tiz always good when coding.

Cheaper chocolate seems to be worse for my Migraines. I have been treating myself to a big bag of Malteasers about once a month, but other than that I'm avoiding chocs..
Head started to get really bad a couple of years ago, so.. Unlike Pringles, it's best to stop before it pops!

Eating at the keyboard? Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

I just grab a bowlful of rice - if I'm feeling fancy I'll add some ham, chick peas and olive oil into the mix. Enough energy + protein to keep even me motivated!

Bournville chocolate does that to me.

Sour Patch Children won't gunk up the keyboard under ordinary circumstances.

They are apparently pretty hard to find in the UK, but they are perhaps the one thing worth importing from our country.

Candy corn! They're not messy, and you won't want to eat anymore than ten because they make you sick - the perfect snack for weight control.

Sunflower seeds still in their shells. Having to deshell them keeps you from scarfing them all down too fast. Just pop a few in your mouth at a time, use your tongue and teeth to get at the kernel and spit the shells out into a container, keeping your hands relatively free. They are a good energy food.

I'll second Yoghurt!
And add chocolate milk to the list.
Good and good!

I used to drink Vodka and (sometimes) Tequila when I was programming, but these days I mostly drink Pepsi and Coke Zero, after realizing that alcohol wasn't very productive to my programming.
