I'd pay good(?) money for someone to 3d print me on of these, slightly modified to not have the two button holes in the front... Linkage

Don’t ask me how to edit things!

Windows 10 can edit STL object with the 3d builder app.

here is a try to close the 2 holes:
1541-SD_Front_wide-edit (.7z)

But, i can not test it, i do not have a 3d printer, and as it looks, i have not closed the holes perfectly ...

I filled in the holes using Meshmixer. Will try a print later on today for you.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. I still have barely no knowledge of how to do things in 3D!
True, I wrote that little pixelart->3D tool, and that's quite nice, but actually editing is beyond me.

Guess I'll have a nosey at MeshMixer, to see if I can figure that out, but .. Not the foggiest!!
Me and 3D. .. Why the hell did I buy a 3D printer!?!

I'd recommend playing around with Tinkercad first. It's a piece of piss to use and you can import STL files and fiddle with them in there.

Meshmixer is free and really good but takes ages to figure out. I just use it for simple things.

I'll hopefully post the print in the next day or so when I have to do a run to the post office.

By the way, I've not sanded down any parts or cleaned away stray bits or "stringy" parts. No doubt you'll have more fun cleaning that up than I would

No problem
It'll look cool next to the c64 mini!

Any chance I can get a new wife printed?

Few specs with the print, not many... Tidy frame, doesnt mind going to the fridge to get me a can when the footy is on, can put curtain poles or shelves up, doesnt mind mowing the lawn, can change a tire, knows how to check levels in an engine and top up when required...

Tar!!!

I have absolutely no idea what shade of grey to try to paint it, so I'll probably leave it alone. The 1541ii I had was yellowed with age, so even if I could remember it, it would be a poor reference.

Well, with a little (lot) help from the some people at http://thec64community.online, I finally got this mini 1641ii to boot the c64 mini directly!

PArt of the c64 firmware is rewritten to boot from USB instead of internal nand. So I used a USB SD reader
Oh, and the arduino powered zipstick
