I'm having no luck here - I'm trying to find something that converts either avi or ogg video to a flash video (FLV or SWF, either way). Most of the stuff on the web is the opposite, for people downloading their YouTube's. I'm looking for either an online service or something Open Source that'll run on Linux. You could always upload it to YouTube then save what it generates and, if you want, delete it from YouTube  Not a pretty solution though, I grant you! -=-=- Come rain or shine... |

I considered that, Fred, but Keepvid wasn't working for me. Plus YouTube quality is awful! Thanks for the link firemaker. Having it work under wine in Linux isn't ideal, but that will still come in handy. Seeing as it just looks like a graphical front-end to mencoder, I suppose I could write my own native Linux version using Gambas If anyone's interested, now that I've got my FLV, this FLV Player is under a Creative Commons license and works great too. -=-=- blog | work | code | more code |

Riva FLV encoder is freeware. Works both ways, I use it mostly for converting flv to mpg, but I've used it for converting to flv in the past.

Super is really good I use it alot since it can convert to 3gp I use it to convert cartoons to my cell phone sometimes when I have time I like to watch like Tom and Jerry on my cell phone! Since I have a one GB memory card for it I can also convert an entire movie. I converted an entire movie as well with no problems super is fast easy to use but its only for windows.  -Toaster

i have never tried it under wine as my freebsd and fedora core boxes ore mainly used for website development and such so ill give it a try later and let you know if it works

Oh cool thanks for the links. I'll try it on wine myself next time I have a minute. So can FreeBSD run most the stuff normal linux distros can then, like wine, etc? I keep meaning to give it a go - would you recommend it? -=-=- blog | work | code | more code |
