What are your preferites books? For me are "The Lord of the Rings" of Tolkien and "1984" of George Orwell

I don't read much any more, at least not properly. I did read all the original 'Dune' books. Some of them are amazing, one or two weren't. I also highly recommend 'Battle Royale'. The only fiction I read (or more need to get around to finish reading) is the 'Trigun Maxim' manga series. I've read most of them, and bought the last book in the series just the other day. But mainly I just flick through sections of programming books. Namely the 'Official OpenGL Reference Book', 'Programming Ruby' and 'Object First with Java'. |

okay,okay.... I confess up.  some of my favorite books that I have read or I'm reading: The Narnia Books Breakfast of Champions The Sheep Look up Farenheit 451 Rendevous with Rama The Ahriman Gate Pyschotronic Warfare....audio book series That Was Then, This Is Now. Twice Upon a Time Vanished and Theres A new World Coming both by Hal Lindsey A Woman Rides the Beast and The Archon Conspiracy both by Dave Hunt and assorted programming books. Currently reading up on game programming in Python using pygame. true.  |

I also read the latest chapter of 'Why's (Poignant) Guide to Ruby', which is more cartoons about foxes, cats and magical beards then to do with Ruby.

"Last Chance to See" - Good if you like animals. "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" - Hilarious. The whole Hitchhikers series - Just as hilarious. "FlatLand" By Edwin Abbott. Really short book about a 2-dimensional world inhabited by different shapes. Really makes you think. Highly recommended. Currently reading "Code", by Charles Petzold. It starts by explaining how a flashlight works, to how logic gates work, and all the way up to how simple microprocessors work. It's brilliant. -=-=- My Twitter

thats cool blanko. I read Flatland a long time ago. I forgot about that book. I think I think a short movie or cartoon was made on this book. and oh man!!...I have to check out that book Code by Charles Petzold. It sounds familar. thank you for reminding me about Flatland and also that book called Code. yet, I'm surpirsed about no books on snakes and garter snakes specifically. |

The Red Dwarf novels are interesting reading in a "It's the same but different" kinda way. I enjoyed the Dave Gorman books, but have yet to pick up his flatmate Danny's books. I keep meaning to do that, but everytime I'm in town lately it seems to be to buy a gift for someone else! I also liked Tony Hawks' (not the skateboarder) books, but I'm pretty sure I've not read them all. I think I missed one along the way! -=-=- ''Load, Next List!''

I love Star Wars novels, especially the NJO and books on programming especially (lol) The Redwall series is pretty good, too. A Series of Unfortunate Events is kind of short, but it's also a good series. And the author Lee Strobel writes some good books - I think I remember his name right.

I dont really read much, i need to read more. The only books i really read are programming books, however i did find crank to be a very good book!

Like maybe a book or novel that contains short stories. Sometimes I don't like to read whole novels so I read certain books with either short chapters and/or contain short stories. Take the Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. Execellent Science fiction book where the adventures take place on Mars. Yet each chapter or two is like a mini-story or short story in and of itself. A tv mini-series was made of this book srtarring Rock Hudson and Darren McGavin. Also a few other books that come to mind of his are The October Country and Long After Midnight. Oh yeah! I totally forgot about the Redwall series. I use to love those. "Legend of Luke" was my favorite, I think.
