Socoder -> Off Topic -> Strange question about IP rerouting

Hello! This may be an odd question, but does anyone know how to locally reroute an ip address to another? the reason why i asked is as follows (try to forgive my odd explination):

I have a dev server set up with my nets IP address of 66.xx.xx.xx while on network, it's 192.168.1.4. The server is a DMZ server, which in term excludes local requests from rerouting through the internet, thus only allowing LAN traffic through. The downfall to the gameservers, however, is that it broadcasts my internet ip of 66.xx instead of 192.168.1.4. This, in term, confuses this computer into thinking it's rerouting to THIS computer instead of the dev server, which is incorrect.

What i need to do is somehow say 'Hey, My net IP is supposed to go to the Dev server, not here.' to this computer. i tried changing the hostslist in system32, but it didn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Ok, do you run all of this through a router?

If so, try port forwarding all the ports you need for your gameserver to the gameserver. The only problem with this is that then your other computer won't be able to use these ports. Overall, it entirely depends on what you are using to connect to the net, and the specific type of this (e.g. - The specific router if you use one)

This is all I can say with the info you've given, but if you can give me some more, I'll have a go at sorting your problem.
