Ha! I just thought I'd beat the British to the celebration of Bonfire night since I'm American.

For those that don't know:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunpowder_Plot

Cheers!

Well, technically they did burn a man and are having a festival for it.

ha!, ha!

yeah, but I betcha the British Parliament didn't have to deal with flocks of New Agers, Ufonaunts,Rasputin and Nostradamus enthusiasts, etc... nor even waiting for Elvis Presley to come back in a flying saucer. :0

.

Actually, if you are referring to Guy Fawkes, he was beheaded, drawn and quartered.... Whoa !... What a mess that must have been !.

|edit| I reckon the only reason the British government are trying to ban private purchase of fireworks is because when the historical event was attempted, it was an attempt to assasinate the entire government with gunpowder. Just think how much better off us Britts would have been if Guy Fawkes had succeded... |edit|

Dude, magicman, the reason V for Vendette reminds you of it so much is because it references Guy Fawks so much. He even wears a Fawks mask and further blows up Parliment in his vision and in the vision of reform and removal of corruption.
