JL235	Hmmm... Well I could do it, but I'd much rather port my own projects to C#. Which reminds me, I still need to install VS 2008.

Phoenix	Actually, you don't need to install VS 2008. So far, the only positive difference I've noticed is the UI. Which is a very slight change. The negative addition is that there's a lot of more features doing nothing else than bloating the IDE.

JL235	Is the Intellisense not improved at all? After being amazed by NetBeans 6 whilst it's been out, I'm kinda disappointed with Visual Studio now. The only big aspect that I think now puts it above NetBeans 6 is it's speed.

Phoenix	I've never had any problems with slow IntelliSense, so I can't say for sure, but I've read that it should be improved: Scrolling large C# files in the Editor is 100% faster, while typing in new text is 50% faster The response time of IntelliSense with large types in C# is up to 10 times faster \|moan\| Jay, it's about time you fix the [ul] and [li] tag quick buttons -- they're reversed! \|moan\| \|edit\| Well, would you look at that!... You could've said something earlier!.. (Notes that whilst he's at it, he should probably add an [] thing, too..) \|edit\|

JL235	I didn't mean that the Intellisense was slow, but I've heard it has been completely remodeled. NetBeans 6 is the slow one, but I'd say it's a better IDE. There are some brilliant small things, like changing the name of a variable of function is done in the editor rather then in a separate dialog. I can effectively type in all the places where it is used at the same time. It's so cool. If I click on a method/variable/class it will highlight every use of that not only in the editor but down the side of the scroll bar too. Useful for finding out where an import at the top of the file is used in the class. Just click and look. It's the kind of thing that when I now use VS 2005 I instinctively reach for these features, then feel disappointed about how it's not there.

It isn't in a separate dialog -- you just rename one instance of the variable, and then click the little box that appears next to it, with the text "Rename without preview." If I click on a method/variable/class it will highlight every use of that not only in the editor but down the side of the scroll bar too. Useful for finding out where an import at the top of the file is used in the class. Not sure about that one, but there are plugins available for VS, unless you use the express version (and I know you have access to other versions).

dna	There's Freebasic, which I think includes GUI Commands, or at least the ability to add them... doesn't it? Yes it does and the software is open source. You can change it if you need to. -=-=- DNA

JL235	The software should already be complete. You shouldn't need to have to change and add bits.
