The Company he found will never be the same.

Thats an office desk...not the floor....you see a monitor under his arm with "MICROSOFT" on it....

I see him as a great pioneer that took the tech industry probably farther than anyone else would. But the company he has created has become too greedy. But what company now a days doesnt right?

It's weird that all those years have passed by already. I still remember when MicroSoft was still a young company.

It was the ultimate Geeks Dream.

Just a random thought...It's really hard to imagine that I'll be around when Bill Gates dies. He just kind of seems invincible.

He's a good guy; a geek to look up to. I'll miss him at Microsoft.

I'm not too keen on Ballmer being in charge.

Still, he's good for a laugh, right?

Developers developers developers developers developers developers developers developers developers!

(see "Need help with BBCode? Click here." link below the reply box..)

Since he started it up, and did rather well, MS has been going downhill for a long long time.. I can only see things getting worse now that he's left.

Aw well.

balmer is a complete joke. I was reading some stuff that all that's left in the top levels of microsoft is PR guys and stuff, no more actual developers... that's the real sad part about all this. Tech companies shouldn't be run by the guys that just want the pay check, they should be run by the guys that made the technology and love making it.

microsoft is at a major turning point right now; not just because of bill and a lot of the original founders leaving, but also because of poor sales of vista. Apple has taken advantage of this, and linux kinda has, but really not to the extent that they should have (business wise)... i think microsoft has been so big for so long that they make assumptions as to their permanence, but, even rome fell.

Here's a great video of Bill doing a Doom commercial so that we can all remember him fondly.

"balmer is a complete joke. . . ."

That is exactly my take on his being there.

In fact, seeing him makes me think of the Mafia. When they take control of something, it's only money, money, money, and things slow down.
