A friend of mine also saw this at Morgan Stanley, about 5 years ago. Knowing them, it would have almost certainly been built in house.

Agree with Spinal, especially because Synergy is cross platform.

It makes sense for Microsoft to have this as a supported official application, but I don't see why they didn't just contribute and/or fork Synergy, and slap on a new UI.

However, Microsoft releasing this it might put pressure on Synergy developers to get around to implementing drag & dropping files.

A bit more impressive, I've heard of a company that built a server being able to drag .NET applications from one PC to another.

The applications used WPF for their front-end, where all UIs were just XAML files. So when they were moved the UI was dynamically unlinked, and then the XAML file was sent across to the new PC, where it is re-linked to a fake application. The fake application just sent inputs and data over the network, back to the original application (which is now running in the background on the original PC).

Cool story Microsoft, but Input Director amongst other things, did it first.

That's not a mouse without borders. That a mouse with 4 desktops or less borders.
