Bought a PC Floormat mag for the travel down today, since I'm heading back home for good, might as well look into the desktop shenanigans... And I was blown away with it... Because it's nothing more then a bloody £5.99 pamphlet! :/ #robbery

I remember the days when £3.50 used to buy an encyclopeadia sized magazine, with thousands of pounds worth of software on the cover! Bloody internet...

I remember Amstrad mags being under a quid, and they had more content than the crap they're selling now.

stopped buying retro gamer when future took over. It lost that 80's feel and I didn't like that.

I subscribe to RetroGamer, Edge and GamesTM. I enjoy them most months. Edge is constantly up its own arse, but often has some very good features. GamesTM is pretty much perfect as a gaming and tech mag for me. RetroGamer is very hit and miss, but I enjoy it on the whole.

I used to pick up Edge and RetroGamer every month, since the shop I worked in also sold magazines. Handy, that!
Unfortunately, I haven't picked either of them up since the last time I was at work, and that's over 3 years ago.
..

I haven't missed either of them..

What pisses me off is how they charge 6 quid for a pamphlet that's stuffed full of crap that's available freely over the internet anyway.

And is at least a month old, too. That doesn't help.

I tend not to buy them unless it's an impulse purchase...Case-in-point, picked up a copy of Retro Gamer because they have a feature on Shoot'em ups.
