Socoder -> Wednesday Workshop -> #096 - The Tank Challenge

Wednesday Workshop #096 : The Tank Challenge
Time until Deadline

Week : 18 April 2007
The Reason : Because Firemaker didn't remake Combat for the Atari 2600 challenge, and I really wanted to play it!

The Challenge : This week, make games with tanks in them.

Extra Info
Any game involving Tanks. Any at all. Doesn't have to be Combat!

Weekly Rules/How to Enter
You have until Tuesday Night/Wednesday Morning 00:00 BST to submit your levels. ^ See Deadline Link! ^

Wed.Workshop is at SoCoder.co.nr. If you can read this, you're probably already there!

Stick your entry underneath this post, leaving a link to your zip or the source of your game, or whatever. (I really should get round to that Upload thing, shouldn't I!)

If you can't figure it out, or have a really rubbish server, send it to Jayenkai@Gmail.com and I'll stick it straight onto the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site.

Entries will be collected during the week, and then entered into the next week's voting. (If there are any entries..)

Please try to keep all entries within small file sizes. 2Mb is the average maximum for files.
Additional Rules are available at the SoCoder (Official Wed.Workshop) site, under the list of previous workshops.

Last Week's Games
Last week we had two entries, but I couldn't get Prospero's (sorry, it was Phoenix's, not Prospero's!) entry to work, so you'll have to wait till he sends me a screenshot and some basic info before I can post it to the WW pages properly!

But which one wins?
Comment on the entries (once it's there), and don't forget to cast your votes. Then the one with a highest rating next Wednesday will be declared the winner.

quick idea
and suggestion.

or I'm just the Bard or the Storyteller

www.imdb.com/title/tt0092383/

where my ideas,stories, designs, ramblings
fall on deaf ears. Where only the Winds in the Willow
spread their branches and happily receive the mesmermizing
messages and whimsical wonderings.

anyway, have a mode where
if you or your opposing tank is about to be destroyed
you can engage the VMR option.
Vehicular Module Reassembler. Where your parts are broken up and have to move and reassemble them. Easy mode...the
opposing tank is gone and doing its military thing or purpose. The hard mode...its still there but is made aware you are trying to reassemble your vital tank components.
Which have been scattered but with the VMR have self repaired somewhat.
You and your opponent can only engage the VMR only once.
And it takes up most of your energy and some of your fuel too. Maybe...perhaps.

Download TANKTICS here

TANKTICS is a simple arcade game with retro graphics where you move using the arrow keys and fire using the space bar. You move fastest on roads, then grass, then tall grass, then taller grass, then sand, and you cannot move on water. The goal is to defeat the 3 opposing tanks; you are the red one. Use levelmaker.bb to edit level 11, the level that you may edit. It starts out empty. Press s to save, l to load.

In case you didn't notice, 'tanktics' is a play on the word 'tactics'.

|edit| actually, the title sceenie was taken a little while ago and it's changed a tad and I'm too lazy to re-upload it just for you all's info |edit|

Maybe you should link to the actual game, instead of an image of a download button

Their are so many free places to host files, I don't understand why your having so much trouble or using Rapidshare.

I use Google Pages, and mainly because I couldn't be bothered to look around.

You should also always test links after posting them.

Seems we're only getting the one entry this week. Aw well.
(Still no Atari 2600-style Combat?! Noooooo!!)

If there are any remaining entries, you have just under two hours to submit them.
