Memory Slipping?

We've a couple of neighbours here, and they're chatting about that time we all went to Wales, about 20 years ago.
It's an extremely vague memory. I'm struggling. I have a couple of images in my head, but not much more than that.
Scary!!
Sitting here wondering. "Is it just old age, or is it something brain-surgery related...?"

Hmmm...

I think you need to keep memories active. Remember them every now and then so they get to the top of the pile. I sometimes do not remember something that my mum tells me.

I'm terrible with names of places I've visted. I remember all the details, but forget the names.

I went on holiday to MableThorpe a few years ago (lovely place, fantastic cottage etc.etc.) But I constantly forget the name "Mablethorpe" etc. I'm constantly asking my wife "Have we ever been to...?" and the answer is generally "Yes, that's where..." And I'll be like "Oh yeah!"

D'oh!

That's the only thing I remember that I forget...

Of course, I have also been to places that I'd rather permanently forget too...

I once a long time ago downloaded that "mega memory" thing on kazaa or napster I think. It was a long course but boiled down to you having to pick a number of things from your home. Say the freezer, a closet, a door etc. This was a list you would always be able to remember. You would then cycle that <home>list and add a word or item you wish to never forget. I tested it and I was able to recall a list of items cycling through that anker list.
I never started using that method, but I remember it and could start to use it I ever needed to start to remember lists of things.

Ok, I'll worry less about it.

My memory's usually been rather better than that.
..
I think!!
