Monitor Woes

2 weeks ago I bought a new monitor, a 19' ViewSonic flat screen to match my current 19' ViewSonic flat screen monitor. It was refurbish and didn't include it's original box, but was dirt cheap at just £66 including postage.

1 week later it arrived, without cables! AAAAAAARRRRGGGHH! It wasn't stated on the original order that it did not contain cables, however that didn't bother me. What did is that if I had of know then I could ordered cables with it. So I ordered them and had to wait another week for them to arrive.

In the mean time I gave the seller negative feedback over the issue. Their system also kept saying my card details were invalid, when they weren't. A few days later they e-mailed me stating that if I had of contacted them they would have sent me the power lead, as it was meant to be sent with one (but not a VGA). But they agreed to refund the cost of my leads in return for me removing the negative feedback.

Today the VGA lead I ordered arrived. Turned out I had ordered a VGA extension cable by accident. ARRRRRRGGGGHHH! So rather then wait another week I decided to go find an independent PC store to buy one. The first PC store I tried is no longer there, presumably closed down. I went to PC World (which is ages away) but their cheapest cable was £25! It's less then £4 on Amazon. But one of the assistants told me of a near by independent store, Biotechnik Computers (awesome name).

So I bought my cable then did the 30 minute walk home happy with my new monitor cable. Got home, went to plug it in and I've been sold another VGA extension cable. AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!! I had to walk the 30 minutes back, get it swapped, then walk home again.

Now it all works but today I've walked over 9.5 miles just to get a VGA cable. AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

I hate it when that happens... when I bought my external hard drive it came with some sort of European cable instead of a UK one and it wasn't until two months later that I had time to go to the market to buy one.

It almost makes me wish that we had a tyrannical global dictator who would demand every country use the same damn plug design.

The same way they tried to sell my sister a charger for £99.99 for my nephews laptop (and that's for a E-Machines laptop, a cheap £499 one).

"Robbin' Arthur Hunt's !"... Don't ask me what that means, you should know how to rhyme by now !

She managed to get one for £29.99 direct from the manufacturer.
