Blockman Gets DS!

Complete Redo

Yesterday I decided to redo "Blockman Gets" on the DS.
Starting from scratch, I redrew most of the graphics, built a bunch of new levels, added in the old sound effects (due to lack of time, and botheredness!) and recoded the game from scratch.

The boulder's gone, the dart's in it's place, and the game's running nicely.
.... although it's no badges.. and no titlescreen.. .. and no music..
..

..
and no saving..

Why start from scratch?
Well, first off there's obviously an issue porting Blitz onto a DS, but second, and more importantly, it needed to be tweaked to be less... um.. shall we say.. Powerful!
DS really can't handle a lot, even with all it's tiles onscreen.

The tiles still flicker in, but it's a lumpier effect than the PC edition, due to the tilemap limits of the DS.
Of course, I could've sprited them all, but I wanted to reduce my sprite usage.

--> 3 sprites -->
Woot!

* 3rd sprite is 256 pixels to the left of Blockman, so he doubles up whilst shifting left to right..
Oh, yeah and he does wraparound, too!
