Socoder -> Question of the Day -> QOTD : What are you working on?

Anything big, anything small, anything at all?!
I'm supposed to be doing that Countdown game, but it seems to have grinded to a halt. Not sure why, but there you go.

Meanwhile, I'm not sure whether to start my Turbo the Tortoise remake thing, jump into a new JNKPlat, or start some other obscure game.
Or even an app!!

Hmm..

QOTD : What are you working on?

I'm working on Afr0Messenger, the new thing which will make all the AOL-n00bs, the Hannah Montana and High School Musical tweens and all the important business-men from Wallstreet with a dire-need to talk to their peers between their 'SELL!'s and their 'OH NOES!' go berserk!
Currently trying to figure out how to parse MSNObjects, and download display pictures.

Edit: If I'm really lucky, Microsoft will sue me and I'll get my picture in the paper! Yeeaay!

I'm trying to get somewhere with this Chess Emulation App I said I'd write for someone a long time ago. Unfortunately, my laptop decided that New Year's Eve (when I planned to have a nice night-long coding session) was the perfect time to suffer some kind of hard drive problem during an install. New Year's Day was spent trying to get the blasted thing to work. Things are back to normal now, although half my Steam games have stopped working, the install lies in ruins and I'm worried the thing could break at any moment.

Then school starts on Monday, so it'll be no more coding from then by the looks of things...

Sorry to hear that, shroom.

I did two days work on that platformer, then got too sleepy to do anything other than play UT2004 since. I meant to enter one of the workshops the other day, too.

Got an exam on the 12th so I'll probably spend the time until then procrastinating about revision...

Short answer: nothing!

I've done a teensy bit of Countdown today.
The teensy bit consisted of the following.
1. include "JNK_Wordlist.bb"
2. Check words being input.
3. Realise I need to keep a list of words inputted, and have to allow the player to pick their best word from the list.
4. Play Animal Crossing for a bit.
5. Hang around on the s2beta.com forums for a while.
6. Eat -> Shower -> Work

I'm even more tempted to do my Turbo the Tortoise game, now..

OK, I still working on DSision2(slowly) and my simple, yet useless multiplayer DS game, named after a multiplayer screensaver (?) I made one time, which was named after a line in a popular cartoon movie...

Same old game... I think I'm the laziest, most unmotivated coder here. But I'll get it done this year! Promise.

Me and a friend are looking at making a tanks game using OGRE and the Open Dynamics Engine. The basic idea is that you can customise the AI python then let your tanks slog it out over the net. Its pretty ambitious, and with work and everything else I somehow get the impression that it will never get finished, but it would be nice if it works out, lol.

Hello all, I know I haven't been around much... I've been skulking around the forums every now and then to check for updates...

I've been working on computer vision mainly (trying to figure it all out). I've been somewhat successful in my attempts thus far, its just hard finding good resources on the matter. I'm actually writing this after taking a break from trying to find more information about a segmentation method... long story short, I think I'm going to be spending some time in my university's library once I get back...

Here's one of my successful things, edge detection using the Canny method (supplemented with the Sobel function):
OriginalAfter Canny

I might write an article about the Sobel function later... I need to see how my new classes go (starting wednesday >.<)

|edit| btw, no that is not me or anyone that i know, just a random image |edit|

Since I'm tired of thinking about code for a while, I'm working on a little shooter game that simulates the graphical capabilities of the ZX Spectrum -- including attribute clash.

There's an early WIP here for the curious. Z shoots, arrows move, P pauses. If you still have trouble, watch the demo by waiting at the title screen. Any feedback would be appreciated, especially with regards to difficulty and general gameplay. (Music is by Stark/Beefok.)

Tikihead On a sidenote, I haven't been sleeping lately so as to squeeze the most time out of my break.
