10:20 today, my dad passed away peacefully.

Mum's having a sleep now, for the first time in at least 2 days.

Anyway, just letting you all know the update. I don't need any more long sympathy posts - the CodersWorkshop ones were enough, and appreciated.

I'm really glad that he went so calmly. I'm not sure what I feel at all - I don't think it can sink in, because I can't comprehend it. I feel really bad for mum, though.

Still, it's a beautiful day. You can see right over the sea to the land opposite from our house, and it's a perniament sorta pink semi-sunrise... unless it's smog. I think it's cause britain is so far north and the sun can't get all the way up.

What's kinda comical, however, is that when I was getting stressed, the only indication was this twitch in my right eye. I think one day that means that my normal, calm self will just start twitching, then snap and turn into some knife-wielding maniac. ;-p

Anyway, I suppose I've got a DevCrunch compo to attempt... So while the rest of the family are sleeping, I can try that.

Cheers, all.

Sorry to hear, but I know you were all expecting it.

My neighbour's father recently passed away, and I didn't have the right words to say then, either.

:bows head in sympathy:

It's good to keep yourself busy, but it's also good to mourn, otherwise the right eye will just keep on twitching.

Yep, we're here. I find it's better to mourn, as leaving it just makes it worse. Good luck to you.

Sorry to hear about that. It must be hard losing your father at that age. As you probaly know i almost lost my father about 3 years ago. From a heart attack. Just dont let it all build up and go into denial about it or something.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Good luck with getting through it. I've never experienced such a serious loss, but jnk's right, don't try too hard to forget about it.

What if this were not a hypothetical question?

Mmmm, actually I suppose I'm really still in denial, but it's starting to sink in slowly now. Denial is a lot easier, and I chose it first as the cowards way to go. It means that I can put off the worst for a bit, and take it slowly. I know it's important to accept it though, and I will, in my own time.

And don't worry, I will not forget, or keep myself bottled up inside. I won't give up on life either, though.
