It's not my election, but...

I agree. Anything that goes against conservatism gets my vote.

This guy is worried about the experience of a VP candidate when Obama, a presidential candidate, lists being a community organizer at the top of his resume and has only 143 days experience in the US senate. Get your priorities in order.

The book banning part is a lie concocted by her detractors, and the dinosaur bit is a typical liberal Hollywood slant against Christians and their beliefs. I don't support any candidate in this race, but I find it funny that the Democrats are so up in arms over Palin. They thought they had a monopoly on women in politics, and when the Republicans nominated a pro-life, pro-gun, pro-family woman from Alaska, she instantly became a threat to their crooked idea of feminism.

How do you know that? Matt Damon is saying, rightly so, that he wants to know if she tried to ban books.
And the dinosaur bit is not a typical Hollywood slant - I saw a TV-interview last night with a typical Christian concervative housewife in the US... she was teaching her kids at home because she thought that public schools went against her beliefs and she said straight out that she was thrilled to have a candidate that was not 'pro-evolution'.

Edit: And this was a Norwegian channel.

The entire premise of his question is based on a false list of books liberals were circulating that they claimed Palin wanted to ban. Palin has never tried to ban any book from any library.

The lie: www.snopes.com/politics/palin/bannedbooks.asp

The truth: abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=5766173&page=1

she was teaching her kids at home because she thought that public schools went against her beliefs and she said straight out that she was thrilled to have a candidate that was not 'pro-evolution'.

And exactly what's wrong with that? Thankfully the constitution allows us freedom to practice our religion, whatever that may be. There is nothing written in the bible that conflicts with belief in evolution. Whether or not Palin believes in evolution I do not know, nor care about, it has no relevance to her job as VP.

But it could have consequences for her possible job as a president, especially if these book banning accusations are true (I'm still on the fence about what to believe in that case).

Edit: I also still hate her for her hatred of gays and abortion.

Edit: And the fact that she's pro-drilling in Alaska.

This upcoming election is the first one I am legally allowed to take part in, and I have to say, I don't think I could vote for either candidate in good conscience...

I'm going to refrain from discussing politics on SoCoder.

This topic could easily turn in to a argument, and I will more than likely end up creating one if I join in on the discussion.

Matt Damon, along with every celebrity, should stay away from politics.

That said, I hope McCain/Palin fail miserably -- the thought of another 4-8 years of Christian Conservatism scares the hell out of me.

of all the commentators you can pick as a source you picked matt damon? I'm not saying he's not right about her, but really, matt damon should just be an actor, just like ronald reagan should've been.

Another reason I hate Sarah Palin: She wants to lower taxes, like McCain, and she's not for free, universal healthcare in the US.
