Actually the british spelling is correct. Our american version is the basterized spelling.

I voted colour too, plainly coz I was raised in the UK.

Yes. That was years ago and was necessary due to memory sizes.
These days progammers use up bytes like mad, going through verbose names that may be unecessary.
