I was sawing some wood and slipped. Nearly took my thumb off, there is a deep 'valley' in my thumbnail! didnt hurt but could have. All hail the thumbnail

I remember as a kid, my elderly next door neighbour, who was a retired electrical engineer, was sawing something and forgot he was holding the piece and sawed straight up his finger. I saw the finger after it was all bandaged up but the sheer thought of it was enough to make my arse cheeks clinch.

not doing too bad this week, got a week off for DIY and only cut my thumb twice, I just realised I have cut the same thumb twice! once with my leatherman, none locking blade and once with the saw!

When that saw-finger accident happened to my neighbour back then he must have had some kind of euphoria going on or something coz he was as calm as the dead sea, I would have screamed the bloomin' street down if that was my finger. Makes me shudder even now and yet it happened back in the mid 1980s, the power of memories eh!. |
