One of the biggest things I hate about being British, is... Being portrayed by Hollywood... In the movies, we're not that, that vast majority of us dont take our tea on the veranda, nor do we use a poncey saucer...

I'd love to define a comparison, but, the only thing I can come up with is, we are... Sarcastic bastards!

And yes, Wales is part of the UK, lovely place, Scotland is looking to be an independent nation, lovely place too... It will be an absolute shame if they break away, and, as a Brit, I'll be gutted... But, if they do go that route... Well, I'll respect that, but, I'll be proper pissed if Westminster dishes out my tax money when their dream turns to crud!

Yes but many of use Americans like to think of you as being of a certain demeanor, as depicted in film and similar.

It makes sense to us for some reason. You can play an Evil Character or the hero with equal panache.

Is Scotland does separate then will England lose its Oil rights in Scotland?

I very much doubt it (EDIT: But, there's probably as much gas in England which can be harnessed by fracking then the entire oil fields in the North Sea)... Dont think they'll be able to keep the pound too, also, they'll lose their nuclear umbrella, they wont be a part of NATO (Or the EU), so, technically, the auld Russians who've re-engaged cold war bomber flight paths towards the UK in the last few years, testing us:-

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1260381/RAF-jets-intercept-Russian-bombers-flying-British-airspace.html

(Only to be told to piss off by the RAF) could, technically, drop in (The Cold War isnt over really, its just a bit quiet)!

The UK (The one minus Scotland), EU and US wouldnt allow that obviously, but, it's food for thought, as, there wouldnt be no legal obligation to stop them dropping in, not that I can see anyway!

Yes, over the top thought, but... Am I wrong?

If England would not lose the Oil in Scotland then the area over the next hundred years might turn into another Belfast of sorts.

I can visualize England very rigorously policing their Oil reserves in Scotland much to the disdain of the Scots.
