Here's a good one... Take this video below, it's a MIDI version of the classic Christmas choon of all I want for Christmas by my future wife to be (lol, a man can dream):-

Well, the thing is, because it's MIDI, naturally, a human voice on the thing is a bit "meh", yeah, you could get a robot styleeee sort of affair thing going, but, when you play this, people can make out Mariah banging out the lyrics!!!

Unless they haven't heard the song before... Because if you haven't heard the song, you won't hear Mariah, if you have heard it... You will!

So what's going on?

Well, experts have looked into it and it seems it's an audio illusion, basically, the words people hear aren't actually there... Your mind hears the song, thinks "hold on, mariahs missing" and automatically wangles our lasses glorious vocals from our memory and plonks them in for us!

How clever is that!

I noticed this effect about a decade ago, using an old Dos based Wav2Mid tool.. .. Judging by the quality of the above, it was probably the exact same tool!!

What jay said, but probably earlier. I was in 6th form I think. Mosley if you knew what the midi was supposed to be you could hear it, but if you didn't know, you'd struggle.
